At the school assembly Roisin was awarded a certificate.
Ka pai, Roisin, we are proud of you.
We continue to learn about Flight. Flight has three characteristics: it is controlled, it is sustained and the object can gain altitude by its own power. We are starting to think about whether an object flies based on these characteristics
We made boomerangs. Some of them worked better than others, depending on how they were thrown. We decided that boomerangs don't fly as their movement through the air can't be controlled (once it is in the air) and they don't have their own power to gain altitude.
Next Friday, 28 August, we will be having our Knowledge-a-thon quiz. The children know the answers, so we are hoping for a great result. The green sponsorship forms need to come back to the classroom on Monday so they are ready for the results to be filled in. They will be sent home after the quiz so you can collect the money. You are not expected to bring any money on Monday.
On Sunday 30 August the Junior School will be attending 9am Mass at Christ the King. Please put this date in your diary.
