Ginger’s Chair By Neave and Ruby
One day Lucy the little cat was sleeping happily on the chair. Along came Ginger, the fat cat. Suddenly Ginger hissed at Lucy.
Lucy woke up and notice that Ginger, the fat cat, was looking madly at her.
Ginger leapt up onto the chair and hissed at Lucy again. Lucy jumped off the chair and escaped from Ginger’s claws.
She raced up the steps to her cat door and dived through it.
Once she got inside , she was safe. She was smiling to herself.

The Cat that Can’t Climb Trees By Lulu and Harriet
Cute Cat was eating some food from Fat cat’s bowl. It was scrumptious.
Fat Cat cam running along and nearly pounced on Cute Cat but Cute cat sped away with Fat Cat right behind her.
Cute Cat climbed hurriedly up the tree. Fat Cat tried to climb the tree too.
Cute Cat climbed right to the top of the tree, but Fat Cat did not climb to the top. The branch was going to break!

Cute Cat said, “You can’t climb trees.”

Thank you for having your child at school early today so we could attend Mass. The children .were amazing during mass and I am very proud of them.

Today we had another turn at flying our kites. It wasn't very windy so they didn't fly as well as last week. We still had fun with them though.

For the past three weeks we have been learning about Fractions. We can state what a fraction is and can work out fractions of shapes. Working out fractions of sets are still a bit tricky, but we will keep working on them. We have made posters to show our learning. Come into the classroom to check them out
Fractions by Samuel and Declan
Next Tuesday we have our trip to the Air Force Museum. We will be leaving school at 9am and returning at lunchtime. Children will need their morning tea in a separate container or snap lock bag (must be named) to their lunchbox, and a named drink bottle. Please ensure your child wears their school polar fleece. (Some children are not wearing or even bringing their polar fleece to school. It can get very cold in the playground and children need their fleece to help keep warm.)

Hot Air Balloon and Principal's Awards

This morning we had a bit of excitement on the tennis court. Jacky and Bree each received a Principal's Award for their recount of the adventure. Ka pai, Jacky and Bree, we are proud of you.

In the morning we got to watch a hot air balloon. We were excited. We had to stand on the white line because it might have been dangerous. We made the hot air balloon but it didn't work properly. I can tell you why - because the cotton wool was too close to the balloon. The teachers had to hold it. When it was ready the teacher put the fire on the cotton will. It floated up but it burned the hot air balloon. It was amazing. It burnt like an 'S'. Jacky

On Wednesday we went with Room 4 and Room 6 to the tennis courts to launch our hot air balloon. We used a naked flame, but when we launched it, it … well … it did go up but it burst into flames because the flame went up inside the balloon. It was amazing to watch. Bree
