Term 4 Week 3

This morning Room 5 lead the liturgy at the school assembly. We shared about the Rosary then lead a decade of the Rosary. Everyone spoke very well and I am very proud of them.

Bridget received the Special Character Award.

Bridget, you are a kind and considerate class member and a positive role model.
You support and encourage your class mates.
You are a confident, connected, actively involved learner
who makes the most of all opportunities.
Your attitude shows that you are ‘Stepping Up for Success’.
We are blest to have you in Room 5 and Christ the King School.

Ariana received a certificate. Ka pai, Ariana, we are proud of you.

Ruby was presented with her Gold Mathletics Certificate.
Ka pai, Ruby, for your consistent effort on Mathletics.

This afternoon three of the school's successful speech winners presented their speeches to us. We were all entertained by Danny, who spoke about The Midnight Scoffer, Elizabeth, who spoke about the Rain Forests, and Isla, who spoke about the additives in food.
These three were very impressive in their delivery. The Year 3s are looking forward to their turn at speech writing and presenting next year.
Thank you Danny, Elizabeth and Isla.

Looking ahead to Week 4:
Production: The Year 3 children will be reading their lines each day. Please ensure scripts are brought to school each day. The Junior Syndicate will practice the songs each afternoon.
The Year 3 children will have tennis lessons on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Please bring sports shoes to change into.
Wednesday 4 November at 2pm, in Room 5, the children will be presenting the plays they worked on with Mr H.
Friday 6 November we will be attending 9am Mass. Please be at school before the 8:45am bell so we can complete the roll and be seated in church before 9am.

Enjoy the weekend - Go the All Blacks!

Player of the Day

Last night Bridget was named 'Player of the Day' for her Touch Rugby team. Congratulations Bridget.

Gabrielle

Today we participated in Benediction. This was a new experience for us, but as we have been used to meditating we were able to sit quietly in front of the Blessed Sacrament. Before we went to church for Benediction Alistar brought the monstrance to our classroom so we could look at it and hold it. Alistar also explained how and why it is used.

Gold Mathlete

A big congratulations to Ruby who has gained her Gold Mathletics Certificate. Ka pai Ruby.

Congratulations to Neave who was named 'Player of the Day' for her Touch Rugby team last week. Ka pai.

Today the children received their copy of the script for the end of year production, The First Noel. Only Year 3s have speaking parts, but the Year 2s have all taken the parts of the Room 4 Year 3s so we can practise in class. The Year 3s need to learn their lines and who they speak after. The scripts MUST be at school each day so we can practise. Please help your child learn their lines and remind them to put their script into their reading folder to bring to school. Year 2s need their script each day, but do not need to learn their lines.

On Friday we will be leading the school assembly. This will start at 12md in the school hall. Everyone is welcome to join us.
