Term 3 Week 2

Thank you for your support with getting the children to school this morning. I am very proud of the way they behaved in church, showing respect and reverence. 

The Knowlegde-a-thon packs were sent home today. Learning the answers will be homework for next week. Please help your child to get sponsorships and to learn the answers. We will also work on this in class. All money raised will directly benefit your child. If you have any questions about this, please email me.

Term 3 Week 2 'Star of the Week'

This week's 'Star of the Week' is Gabrielle.

Ka pai, Gabrielle, it's great to have you in Room 5.

Lulu was named 'Player of the Day' for her netball team. Ka pai, Lulu, keep up the great work.

This week is looking pretty busy. On Wednesday we will be walking over to the Aurora Centre to watch BHS perform Joseph and His Technicolour Dreamcoat. This is an amazing opportunity which I am really looking forward to. Please note that we will not be back at school until 3:20pm.

On Thursday and Friday we will be having our big spelling test. 

On Friday we will be attending the 9am Mass. Please be at school before 8:45am so we can check the roll and be seated in church before mass starts.

Term 3 Week 1

Welcome back to school. It was great to see everyone this morning and to catch up on the holiday activities.

We had several things to celebrate:

Congratulations to Declan, Samantha and Bridget for gaining your Gold Mathletics Certificates. This is an awesome achievement as it shows perseverance and determination. Ka pai, keep up the good work.

On Saturday Trinity turned 7. We sang 'Happy Birthday' and wished her all the best for the coming year.






On Thursday we will be having a 'Hockey Festival'. We will join with three other junior rooms to play a round robin of games. Please bring sports shoes and (girls) shorts to change into. This will finish off our hockey sessions.

Our topic this term is Flight. We will be focusing on man-made flight rather than natural flight. If you have any relevant items that you are happy for us to have in the class, please send them along.

Remember to keep learning the Essential Lists spelling words - the big test will be next week.

Term 2 Week 11

At today's school assembly Kempton received a certificate.

Sirayah will turn 7 during the holidays so we sang 'Happy Birthday' to her today. Thanks to Sirayah's Mum for bringing in a cake for us to celebrate with.

Thank you to those who were able to come along and watch us perform our plays this afternoon. What amazing stars we have in Room 5! The children have worked really hard and really stepped up today. I am so proud of them. Look out Hollywood!

This morning we finally had our last hockey session. We have remembered lots of skills so we were able to enjoy some relay races using the skills before playing a game. Next term (on Thursday 23 July) we will have a celebration afternoon when we will play games against the other junior classes.
