Term 1 Week 7

This morning Room 5 lead the liturgy at the school assembly. The children were amazing. Kei whaha hihi ahau o kotou - I am very proud of them all for 'Stepping Up'.

Bree received the Special Character Award.

Bree, you are a kind and considerate class member.
You are becoming a confident, connected, actively involved learner.
taking responsibility for making the most of opportunities.
You are a positive role model.
Your attitude shows that you are ‘Stepping Up for Success’.
We are blest to have you in Room 5 and Christ the King School.

Finn H received a certificate.
Ka pai, Finn, we are proud of you.

Finn H is 7 tomorrow. As we will not be at school tomorrow we sang 'Happy Birthday' to him today and wished him all the best as a 7 year old.

On Sunday the Junior School will be attending the 9am Mass at Christ the King. Please meet outside Room 1 at 8:45am, wearing full school uniform. Children sit with their class and may be collected from the church after mass.

Today we practiced our Run, Jump, Throw in preparation for our Display on Tuesday. The children did a great job, especially considering that this is our first run through due to weather causing us to cancel previous practices. We will have another practice on Monday and the Display will be on Tuesday, starting at 11:15am. Whanau are welcome to come along and watch. You may like to bring a picnic lunch as well. Children will need to bring shoes and shorts on Monday and they can wear their sports gear on Tuesday. Please ensure your child has a water bottle as well.

The children are doing well with their spelling homework. Thank you for your support. The children thought they deserved a break from spelling next week, so there will be no words for the last two weeks of this term. Instead, please keep up the reading and aim to spend 10 minutes on Mathletics each night. During reading we will focus on plays. Children will be bringing their play home each night so they can become familiar with their part and how it fits in to the whole play. They do not have to learn their lines by heart as they can read from their books when presenting the plays.

Remember - if you have any questions or concerns, please come in and talk to me or send me an email. I know you want the best for your child and I do too.

  1. We're really proud of Bree! The class looked awesome on St Patrick's Day and I love the creative sentences where the children described an object- especially Nicholas's one. Thanks Teresa.
